Number of homes Sold and Price Continues to Increase in Western North Carolina

An analysis of third quarter statistics indicates an increase in both the number of homes sold and the price of homes sold in Maggie Valley, Waynesville, and the surrounding area. The number of homes sold increased 14% when comparing the first and third quarters of 2007. Additionally, the average home price increased more than 6%. Asheville and its surrounding areas saw an increase in the average home price of 9% while the number of homes sold increased 10%. Although the number of homes sold is still down from 2006, third quarter statistics suggest considerable improvement in the residential home market.
